Kyle Eyre Clyd is a sound artist and performance artist who has played over 200 shows, sometimes under different monikers—most recently AGNES. She has played at D.I.Y. warehouses, outdoor generator shows, universities, museums, galleries, bars, and nightclubs. She has an M.F.A. in Music/Sound from Bard College and a B.F.A. in interdisciplinary art from the Cooper Union. She has performed as a local artist in Alabama on and off for eight years; in New Orleans, LA for four years; in Western Massachusetts for one year; and in NYC for eleven years. She has also toured extensively and has exhibited performance documentation at galleries; she has distributed music through distros and radio internationally. 

Most notably, she has performed at Issue Project Room, Pioneer Works, Artist’s Space, Sculpture Center, Tracy Williams Gallery, PPOW Gallery, Outpost Artists Resources, Eyebeam, Theater for A New City, The Stone, and more in New York City. She has also performed in support of Joan Joans at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. In New Orleans she has presented work at the Contemporary Art Center, Good Children Gallery, City Park, and more. She has performed at Vox Populi (Philadelphia, PA), The Red Room (Baltimore, MD), and Rhizome (Washington, D.C.) She has also performed at Bennington University, the Cooper Union, Bard College, Columbia University (on WGXC), at N.Y.U. (on WNYU), and has exhibited scores at Texas Tech University. She has also presented performance documentation at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. She was a Visiting Faculty member at Antioch University in 2010-under her given name- and a guest lecturer at Bruce High Quality Foundation University and a panelist at Outpost Artist Resources for Ende Tymes. She has performed live on the radio at WFMU (three times), Wave Farms Arts, and-as listed above-on WGXC and WNYU. She has been a headliner at Ende Tymes Festival in New York City four times; at RVA Festival in Richmond, VA twice; and has been a headliner at INC Miami twice. 

Kyle Eyre Clyd has collaborated with Keith Connolly, Samara Lubelski, Johnny Coley, Turner Williams, Jasper Lee, Tom Thayer, Joan Jonas, Lea Bertucci, Suzanne Kite, Zeljko McMullen, Patrick Cole, and more. 

As a sound artist and performance artist Kyle Eyre Clyd has been curated by Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Jay Sanders (then-Whitney Museum performance art curator), Lawrence Kumpf (current Blank Forms curator), Lea Bertucci, Jeff Ryan (Excepter), Ladonna Smith, and more. 

She has shared the stage with Raven Chacon, Phil Niblock, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Maria Chavez, Aki Onda, Aaron Dilloway, Lingua Ingota, Pharmakon, Metalux, Haribo (led by Raul Denieves), Sarah Hennies, Yugi Agematsu, Tom Thayer, Circuit de Yeux, Ladonna Smith, and more. 

Kyle Eyre Clyd studied music under Diamanda Galas, Matana Roberts, David Behrman, Alan Licht, Jessica Rylan, Jace Clayton, and more at Bard College’s Music/Sound MFA program. She studied conceptual art including performance art and community organizing under Hans Haacke, Tom Burr, Walid Raad, Sharon Hayes, and more at the Cooper Union’s BFA program. She also studied advanced (abstract) painting at the Alabama School of Fine Arts under Darius Hill.
